The united church came into being when the former Methodist Church in Bartlett Street, South Croydon joined forces with the United Reformed Church in Aberdeen Road, South Croydon in 1977.
The church is multi-cultural, welcoming and friendly.
The Sunday services are led mainly by Methodist ministers and local preachers, although there is some input from the URC lay preachers. The church uses Hymns and Psalms, with a traditional style of worship.
Communion services alternate between the Methodist pattern and the URC style. The church premises are also used on Sunday afternoons by two other church groups.
During the week there is a Jack and Jill club, open to anyone.
Other groups using the building during the week are ones connected with alcohol addiction.
The church has good relations with the local Church of England, St.Peter's, and there are joint services at various times during the year.
Church members offer support to various local charities, including Nightwatch, Women's Refuge and the floating shelter scheme when it is in operation.
