South Croydon station is nearby. Bus routes include 60, 119, 312, 403, 405 and 466. Car parking (metered in day time on weekdays) is in surrounding roads and can be difficult to find. Local on-street car parking is free on Sundays.
The church is multi-cultural, welcoming and friendly. The united church came into being when the former Methodist Church in Bartlett Street, South Croydon joined forces with the United Reformed Church in Aberdeen Road, South Croydon in 1977.
The Sunday morning services at 10.30am are led by Methodist and URC ministers and local preachers. The church uses Hymns and Psalms, Songs of Fellowship and Singing the Faith with a traditional style of worship.
Communion services usually alternate between the Methodist pattern and the URC style, although we are using the URC format whilst social distancing is encouraged. The church premises are also used on Sunday afternoons by another church group.
Other organisations using the premises during the week include the Croydon Outdoor Pursuits and Social Events Club (COPSE) and ones connected with alcohol addiction.
The church has good relations with the local Anglican church, St. Peter's, and there are joint services at various times during the year.
Church members offer support to various local charities, including Nightwatch, Hestia and the floating shelter scheme when it is in operation.
We are running an Open Door session during term time on the second and third Tuesday of each month from 10:00am to 11:00am. Tea, coffee, croissants and toast are provided and all are welcome.
